Photoshoot with Sara

Before Sara left on Tuesday, we had a little photoshoot in the morning. She let me use her Canon SLR and I took pictures of her! It was a lot of fun, and got a few pictures I can use for my photography portfolio for school in the process. :)

I love this one. :)
(The color/vintage version is here. I prefer the B/W though!)

And this ends an AMAZING week with Sara! :) We had a great time, and I will see her again soooon hopefully! The next thing I'm going to post is the Snickerdoodles how-to! Yay for yummy cookies!

Poutine!

On Monday we went to Burger De Ville for dinner. They have the best poutines. Basically a poutine is french fries, gravy, and cheese curds. It may sound weird, but it is so, so good. It's a Quebecois thing!

Sara with her delicious poutine! :D

Mount Royal: January 2011

On Sunday, Sara, Wendy, my dad and I were off to Mount Royal for the afternoon. Unfortunately with the amount of rain we got (go figure!) and it getting colder the next day, everything froze over which made it hard to go up the mountain because it was a sheet of ice. So we went as far as the first lookout, and came back down. Despite the visit being short (and a bit chilly), we still had fun! After Mount Royal we took Sara on a tour downtown and through Outremont, a borough of Montreal.

I like this a lot.

Sara with the beautiful city in the background!

Once again, I was the 'squirrel whisperer' and they came close to me again! I don't know why squirrels love me so much, I didn't even have food for them! Go figure!

Nomnomnom!

This leaves me with two more things to post: when we got poutine, and the photoshoot I did with Sara on Tuesday. Then I'll post the how-to for the Snickerdoodles!

Snowman Making, Bowling, & Baking

After having two very busy days, on Saturday Sara and I decided to have a relaxing afternoon. So what did we do? Make a snowman! His name is (was..he's dead now) Fred. :D

And who was the culprit? We think it was Jake. We used his dog food for Fred's mouth, so there he is trying to snag some.

Awww! ♥

After dinner, we went bowling with small balls! Up here in Canada, we have a choice of big balls or small balls. Since Sara is American, she wanted to see what these small balls were all about. So small balls it was! We had a great time!

My very stylish bowling shoes.. haha.

Scores for both of our games. Wendy kicked all of our butts!

After bowling, we decided to do some baking. We made snickerdoodles! I've never had them before, so I was quite excited once they were ready. They're yummy! A full how-to post is coming up once I post everything from this exciting week! :) Next is Mount Royal!

The Biodome / New Year's Eve

Sara and I went to the Biodome on New Year's Eve, it was a lot of fun!

We saw a ton of animals...

This makes me laugh. A lot. :D

I think the otters were my favorite.

Penguins! How cute are they?!

We saw all different kinds, and of course we saw puffins as well. :)

And fuzzy babies!!! ♥ I wanted to sneak them into my camera bag.

New Year's Eve dinner! :)

Sara and I shared a crème brûlée, they're quite good.

After dinner we went to the Old Port to see fireworks at midnight!

After three hours of waiting in the rain, we were cold and wet but it was definitely a New Year's Eve to remember. :)

Fireworks time! It was rainy, smokey and foggy so it was hard to get pictures, but I got a few good ones!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! ♥

Ottawa, Ontario

On Thursday Sara, Wendy and I went to Ottawa, Ontario for the day. I haven't been to Ottawa for a good six years so it was a lot of fun to go again! :)

The first thing we did was go on a tour in the Parliament building...

...and we saw the inside of the building and how much detail went into all of it. It was pretty neat!

Then we went to the top of the peace tower to the lookout of the city. It was gorgeous!!

Photographer in action! :D

♥

I think this is my favorite shot!

This would be Terry Fox. He ran all across Canada with one leg to raise money for cancer research.

I love this picture of the two of us. :D

The War Memorial.

So after we ate lunch and walked around the city for a bit, we were off to the Science and Technology museum! We saw a lot of pretty cool stuff!

We're ready for the coldest Canadian weather out there haha!

We also saw a lot of old cars!

Vroom vrrooooom!!!

Sara climbing the train. I swear she's not crazy!

And then I hopped on. :D

The Parliament building at night lit up with snowflakes. We HAD to photograph it. :D

And finally, the eternal flame at night.

That was our trip to Ottawa in a nutshell! More posts to come! Like the Biodome, New Years Eve, Fred the Snowman which we made today, and bowling later on tonight! :)
