Passover is one of the highest holidays of the year, and we have two dinners called seders to celebrate. Then for seven days, we have to eat things that has "Kosher for Passover" written on it, and some things that can't be eaten are bread, pasta, any type of grain or anything with yeast. It's not so bad, but on the seventh day you're pretty much ready to pull your hair out, want to eat ten bowls of mac and cheese, and you're so sick of matzo you never want to see it again until the following year haha. Maybe that's just me. But anyone who knows me knows how much I love pasta. :D So, on with the pictures!
This is matzo. It's hard to explain what it tastes like. The regular kind tastes like cardboard but the egg one isn't so bad. It's good with butter or cream cheese. It kinda cuts the cardboard factor until you're able to have bread again.
We had a toast to good health. I had a little bit of wine, not my favorite type of alcohol though.
Matzo ball soup. The Jewish medicine for a cold. That and chicken soup.
The main course. The carrots have been my favorite since I was a kid.
Dessert! Macaroons and Passover brownies. My favorite are the chocolate macaroons... yum.
These are kosher jellies that are really yummy. So good.
We got to see Bailey girl! She's 40 pounds now... she's getting bigger by the minute. She's a cutie. :)
Pretty flowers! I especially love the rose. :)
Apart from eating at a seder, we sit in the living room, talk, laugh, smile.. oh, and watch playoff hockey. :)
GO HABS GO!!!
GO HABS GO!!!
And that's what we do at a seder. We're not overly religious so it's just like any other dinner except with matzo, so we don't have any traditions except for watching the Habs win playoff games... hehe.
So a little change of subject... it's finally spring, it's finally getting warmer (well if you don't count last week) which is awesome. Next weekend is also gonna be awesome. Getting a haircut AND early birthday celebrations all in one weekend? Yup. :) Life is good!
