Three weeks ago, I saw one of the best bands in existence: Fall Out Boy. When they went on hiatus in 2009, a part of me died inside and I lost all hope to ever see them live. The band I loved since 2005 was gone indefinitely. So I did what any other FOB fan did.. listened to their four albums on repeat while my heart broke hoping that would bring them back. Spoiler alert: It didn't.
On February 4th, 2013, however, everything changed. Fall Out Boy announced they were back in full force, the same four guys they've always been, were back. They released their new single, announced the date for their new album "Save Rock and Roll" (which they released EARLIER!), and announced a crapload of North American tour dates. I texted Shanna freaking out.. and when she called me telling me that tickets to Fall Out Boy was my birthday present, I couldn't form a coherent sentence. After 8 long years, I was finally seeing the band I wanted to see in concert the most.
Fast forward three and a half months, on May 25, we were off to Metropolis!
I saw Patrick in the flesh.. I still can't believe it.
Pete freaking Wentz. In front of me. I just... nope, no words.
Andy was a beast on those drums.
Joe Trohman!!
Young Volcanoes! My favorite song right now.
Encore. Save Rock and Roll. Even better live.
Last song. Saturday.
Pete screams in it. It was so good live!
21 songs. Great setlist. Awesome night. Got some merch. And unfortunately went home. But they'll be back. Maybe they'll be back with Panic! At The Disco in the fall... fingers crossed they'll add a Montreal date!
