How-To: Snickerdoodles

Last week I made snickerdoodle cookies with my friend, Sara. They're REALLY simple and easy to make! We had a lot of fun and I took pictures for a how-to post, so without further ado, here we go!

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (for rolling)
  • 3 tablespoons cinnamon (for rolling)
So, first step is to pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

After you've done that, mix the butter and sugar until it becomes this..

Next, in a separate bowl, mix the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Then slowly mix it in with the butter mixture.

After you've done that and it's well blended, put the dough in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes.

While the dough is chilling, mix the 3 tablespoons of cinnamon and 3 tablespoons of sugar on a plate.

Once the dough is chilled, take it out and shape the dough into round balls and...

...roll them like so!

Once they're all rolled in the mixture, place them on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Next step is to bake them for 10 minutes in the oven.

Once they're ready, take them out of the oven and remove them from the pan as soon as they're out if you want very chewy cookies!

And of course, the final steps are to clean up annnddd enjoy a warm snickerdoodle cookie (or a few). :) Hope you enjoyed this how-to post! I have a chocolate chip cookie one coming soon as well!
